I am not sure sm is careless or what? Doing excessive trading and recognizing the mistake and selling abruptly for loss. He needs to pay attention to portfolio after he makes monthly adjustments.
Holding until you break even is probable a good strategy for loosing trades in Bull markets where pulbacks are relatively shallow. I hope the manager has different strategy when a Bear market kicks in. What I miss the most is the communication channel with the manager - there is no feedback to followers explaining manager's views or his strategy.
The revamped HTP Momentum is definitely better than the previous version. It is definitely improved in terms of risk management and not letting green trades go red. It has been a short time since this version has been live but it is a very promising strategy for MNQ Futures trading!
This strategy is promising but I have discontinued the strategy due to the risk management on the trades. The strategy has a high win rate but the losses are bigger than the average winners. I will revisit the strategy if the stats improve over time.
It should be no surprise this system is down 20%. This is the nature of Martingale strategies. Lots of small gain trades and then one stomach churning drawdown trade.
Another issue is this system has been stuck in this one losing trade for 3 weeks with no end in sight while the market has been going up. A lot of wasted time.
I am not against the premise of the strategy, but I don't see what technicals are being used to justify the trades. Heavy position in PayPal was a winner, luckily, because of a buyout offer. And that seems to be the narrative. Throw out any technical analysis and just hope there is a buyout or some other miracle. Some of the stocks trade in low volume which means you might get whacked on the entry/sell price when the auto-trade executes.
Losses, losses and again more losses. So far mostly losses. And all 11 open positions are at a loss as well. I see that the strategy made 60% so far this year, but not for me. I'm at a loss. I can't give a good review or recommendation, just neutral, since the strategy made no profit for me, just mostly losses. If the strategy doesn't recover by the end of the year, I will have to give a worse review.
"Basically, this strategy achieves positive overall performance. However, it is frustrating that high losses occur time and again because trades are consistently placed against the trend. In these moments, corrections are made too late."
Joined this strategy in early 2025 when it was at peak and it has been pretty flat since then. I have been watching the positions closely, and even though it ultimately comes out on top, there are long stretches where its trades simply do not align with market sentiment. Bad positions are dealt with averaging in usually until the strategy decides there is no hope and closes the positions. Since they close losers eventually (even sometimes manually), the strategy is not as risky as others. I do think there might be some kind of 'edge' by playing the correlations against each other but the returns are modest.
So, here are some facts supporting my 1-star review. (1) with a current CAGR of 1673% per year (C2 calculates it a bit differently), it will take only 7.4 years for this strategy to take over the entire $130 Trillion global market. How long do you think this insanely over-leveraged trading can continue at this pace? (2) according to C2’s own published data, the strategy experienced a 93% drawdown on July 23. The strategy had a 2-contract @NQU6 long opened 7/23 07:45 and closed 7/23 16:12 for a realized −$5,455. The position was underwater by −$17,506 at its worst intraday moment (11:31 AM that day) before recovering most of the way back and closing at −$5,455. Reconstructing account equity at that instant (realized equity just before this trade, plus this trade’s own worst unrealized loss — there was no other position open concurrently that day) implies true mark-to-market drawdown at that instant: −$17,506, or −93.0%. Yet C2 only publishes an 18% MDD, even though the facts on July 23 have been brought to their attention. How long before another one of these blows up the model account, taking most of your accounts with it? (3) the manager is arrogant and lashes out at any criticism, even though his DCA/ Martingale behavior is obvious to see from a casual perusal of his trade details. (4) the manager’s previous drawdown history was not brought over from the manager’s Ninjatrader account – presumably there were even larger drawdowns in that history that are not being disclosed. All that being said, the strategy does look very exciting, doesn’t it? Attracting subscribers like moths to a flame.
I am disappointed with the performance of the option trades over the past month. In many cases, the trades showed a reasonable profit at some point, but the profit was not realized at the appropriate time, and the positions eventually declined into losses.
For example, in a recent QQQ options trade, the position reached a profit of approximately $1,000 before ultimately ending in a loss.
I would like to suggest that the system manager consider taking a reasonable profit when it becomes available, rather than waiting for a much larger “big bang” profit. Consistently capturing decent profits may help improve overall results and reduce the risk of profitable trades turning into losses.
The equity curve looked great so I decided I’d be in good hands with this strat. Also, the SM had 3 or 4 other systems in the top 10 of the Leaderboard. What wasn’t to like, right? Once I subscribed, though, I was pretty much continually in a state of anxiety with this system. The instruments traded and direction of trade didn’t make sense. The SM held onto trades for weeks and doubled down when things didn’t go as expected. This insistence on winning at all costs immobilized the strategy, preventing any further trading until the SM could eke out a couple hundred dollars to show some green to his customers. This latest hold-and-hope, the CAC40 long, is bleeding money, didn't make any sense as the markets are on edge with September rate cut seeming more and more unlikely and the war starting up again - and as usual the SM is holding on insisting for a win. Will he eventually get one? I’m not sticking around to find out.
